Our Founding Principles

We believe the sixty-six books of the Holy Bible are the fully and verbally inspired, infallible, and inerrant-in-the-original-manuscripts Word of God and the believer’s supreme and final authority for faith and life.

We believe there is only one and true God, but that in the unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and co-equal persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who are the same in substance but distinct in being.

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God who through the virgin birth is also the Son of Man, undiminished deity and perfect humanity united in one Person forever. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ came to earth to reveal God and to redeem sinful men. He died on the cross as our substitute, taking on Himself the penalty for our sin and granting salvation to any and all who believe in Him alone as their Savior. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ experienced a literal, physical resurrection from the dead, which is the primary demonstration of the validity of Christianity. Having ascended to the right hand of the Father, He is the Head of His body, the church, and engaged in numerous ministries on behalf of believers.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead and that His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerating, baptizing into the body of Christ, and sealing unto the day of redemption those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ; and indwelling, instructing, and empowering believers for godly living and service.

We believe man was the direct creation of God, created in His image, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. Apart from salvation by grace through faith, he is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition and is lost eternally.

We believe salvation is a matter of grace, the gift of God received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. We believe all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are secure in Him forever. We believe that every saved person possesses two natures, with provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. We believe that God’s Word exhorts Christians to live so as not to bring reproach upon their Savior, having been called to be in the world but separate from it, living holy lives and producing the good works which are a proper fruit of salvation.

We believe the church is the body of Christ, a spiritual organism of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, who are to be identified with Christ in baptism, to remember His death in the Lord’s Supper, to worship God, build up one another, and proclaim by life and by word the Good News to all mankind.

We believe Satan is a person, the author of sin, the enemy of God, and the accuser of believers, and that he and his demonic legions shall be eternally punished.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will come for His own, pour out His wrath on the earth, and return as King of kings and Lord of lords to rule the world. We believe the souls of believers are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, and that the souls of unbelievers enter a state of conscious separation from God. We believe in the subsequent bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment.
